Circus Knie in Geneva

Event: Circus Knie in Geneva
Date: August - September 2008

A perfect day out for those on family breaks at Red Carnation Hotel Hotel d'Angleterre, in Geneva this summer could be a trip to see Circus Knie.

The Swiss national circus annually tours the country and offers audiences "captivating" performances at Geneva's Plaine de Plainpalais for a three-week period at the end of summer, according to What's on When.

And guests of luxury Geneva hotel Hotel d'Angleterre who watch the show will be enjoying a performance by a troupe that is part of Switzerland's cultural history.

The Knie family have been a part of Swiss history for roughly 200 years, with newer members of the Knie family having built on the reputation of the Circus Knie in recent times.

Nowadays, the event's site claims, the circus is one of the most famous travelling troupes in Europe.

Families attending the circus can enjoy such spectacles as traditional elephant and horse acts, a seal show, acrobatics and traditional circus clowning.
