While the programme for this year's Festival De La Batie in Geneva has not yet been released, if the success of last year's festival is anything to go for, guests attending from nearby luxury hotel Hotel d'Angleterre are in for another fantastic week.

Local and international performers head to Geneva to take part in the festival which takes place across more than 20 venues.

From contemporary dance to classical drama, installations and art displays, this annual event attracts thousands of visitors to Geneva in late summer.

Taking place this year between August 29th and September 13th, Festival De La Batie showcases local talent and visiting acts in bars, theatres and industrial spaces too.

A multi-media event, the concerts, art shows and theatre events are designed to designed to "fuse and foster the collective creative impulses" of those who participate, Geneva.info reports.

In addition to theatre events, there will be a selection of workshops, seminars and discussions taking place.

These extra activities are designed to bring the role of art in society to the forefront of people's minds.

Visitors can always retire to luxury Geneva hotel Hotel d'Angleterre to discuss the merits of art over a brandy later on in the day.
