This year's Geneva Festival, or Fetes De Geneve as it is known locally, is fast approaching and is likely to be a calendar event that is of significant interest to guests staying at luxury Geneva hotel Hotel d'Angleterre.

Taking place from July 31st until August 10th, the festival is has a reputation as being the highlight of the summer in Geneva, attracting more than two million visitors on an annual basis.

The majority of the action takes place a stone's throw away from the luxury Geneva hotel on the shores of Lake Geneva.

Attractions include carnival rides and concerts and this year festivities will also include variety shows, parades and nightly pyrotechnic displays.

The Geneva tourism and convention bureau's department of events and the organising committee of the Geneva Festival are this year welcoming the city of Moscow as a guest of honour.

And continuing the multicultural theme, cuisine from 32 countries will be available to eat on the many food stands situated in and around the lake's harbour.
