For one weekend this September, residents and visitors in Geneva can reclaim the public spaces of the Jonction area as part of the La ville est a vous celebrations.

The festival - the name of which translates as 'the city is yours' - closes off the urban streets from the usual hustle and bustle of traffic, replacing it with a buzzing celebratory atmosphere.

A wealth of games and musical performances can be enjoyed over the course of the two days, while stalls will be serving up fair trade and local products to keep appetites sated.

Jonction's version of the festival is the latest in a series that have been running through the year. Following this, there will be two more parties - in Champel on September 13th and the following weekend in Paquis.

If the action in the city streets get a little much, guests at the luxury Geneva hotel Hotel d'Angleterre can always head back to the comfort of their room.
