International Christmas Market, Geneva

People who want to get the European festive feel this winter can visit the International Christmas Market in Geneva.

The event is set to run throughout November and December, with a variety of stalls being set up in the city for visitors to peruse.

Each stall will look like a chalet to create a village effect in the market, which will be located on the main shopping area.

Included in the items for sale on the will be jewellery, art and crafts and Christmas trinkets, with cafes and food outlets also being available.

Open-air skating is also available at the festive event, with adults and children able to rent skates or take their own along.

Those attending the market who want to make the most of Christmas can stay at the Hotel d'Angleterre and sample the Festive Season package, which includes gourmet breakfast and welcome drinks.

Also being held in Geneva for the Christmas period is the tree and lights festival, where around 50 trees in the centre are decorated, painted or signed like pieces of art.
