Film Festival on Human Rights at the Maison des Arts du Grutli

Event: 5th International Film Festival on Human Rights
Date: March 6th until 15th

The ability of documentary films to inspire change in people to improve relations between each and every one of us is one of the most powerful and important parts of the whole medium.

Across the world, there are people who are suffering at the hands of discredited regimes and governments which serve the needs and wants of a powerful minority at the expense of the disadvantaged majority.

However, the victims are not alone, with right-thinking individuals across the world concerned and prepared to act in order to champion their human rights and freedoms.

The International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights (FIFDH) in Geneva is one event where like-minded people can come together to discuss and debate issues regarding fundamental freedoms.

By using films and documentaries, the event seeks to underline human rights violations and stimulate ideas on how oppressed populations can be helped.

Two prizes will be awarded to filmmakers this year, with the Grand Prix du FIFDH offered for the best production and the World Organisation against Torture accolade given to directors who have incorporated questions of human dignity and respect in their movies.

Visitors will experience a powerful and moving event which could change their opinion on a range of different issues.

While the cause is a very worthy one, attendees will need to detach themselves from the problems in the world at some point and by booking the Cultural Geneva package at the luxury Geneva hotel the Hotel d'Angleterre, they can enjoy comfort and quality as standard.

The deal includes a buffet breakfast, a beautiful book of Geneva and entry to two museums.
