Geneva Book Fair at the Palexpo

People from all over Europe will descend on Geneva towards the end of next month for Switzerland's largest cultural and educational gathering.

The Geneva Book Fair has drawn literature fans and industry figures to the Swiss capital since 1987 and the 23rd year is likely to be bigger and better than ever.

Hundreds of exhibitors will be in attendance, highlighting the city's rich heritage and cultural diversity with a host of books, magazines and other literature in a variety of languages.

The guest of honour for 2009 is Turkey and there will also be a special exhibition of works from the Giacometti 3 - Alberto, his father and brother - and a Manga village.

More than a hundred thousand people are expected to attend this year, which means demand for accommodation is likely to be high.
