The streets of Geneva will be bathed in colour when the International Tree and Lights Festival gets underway to mark the start of the festive celebrations.
Started in 2001, the event has grown into one of the biggest highlights of the year and is a must see for guests enjoying a yuletide break at the luxury Geneva hotel the Hotel d'Angleterre.
Artists from across Europe are invited to present large-scale installations throughout the city, with trees and shrubs transformed into brilliant displays of colour.
The centrepiece of the festival is the magnificent tree, which replaces the Jet d'Eau fountain and is visible from across the city.
It is a wonderful way to begin the Christmas celebrations and the perfect event for couples enjoying a romantic few days away together, as is the Luxury Weekend Break package at the Hotel d'Angleterre.
