In Madagascar at the Musee d'Ethnographie de Geneve

Event: In Madagascar
Date: April 30th to June 20th

Jacques Faublée was one of the most significant anthropologists of his time and his journey to Madagascar marked a turning point in the study of ethnology.

For three years he lived among the natives, documenting their way of life and capturing it in more than 12,000 photographs.

Many of these images will be shown to the public in a new exhibition coming to the Musee d'Ethnographie de Geneve.

In Madagascar will feature photos developed from negatives donated by Faublée's daughter in 2008.

While many of the images can be appreciated purely for their beauty, the meaning behind them challenges visitors to examine the relationship between anthropology and photography.

The exhibition will be split into four sections, each offering different perceptions of reality and various perspectives on ways of seeing and reading.

This is not the only exhibition visitors to the city can experience, however.

With the Arts & Culture package at the luxury Geneva hotel the Hotel d'Angleterre, guests can gain entry to two museums, a buffet breakfast to start the day and a beautiful book of Geneva to take home with them and remind them of the fantastic time they had.
