The Clare Van Beusekom-Hamburger Donation at the Musee Ariana

Event: The Clare Van Beusekom-Hamburger Donation
Date: June 3rd to Jan 9th

In 2007, Clare van Beusekom-Hamburger, daughter of arts collector Gustaaf Hamburger, donated her parents' extensive collection of earthenware and porcelain to the Musee Ariana.

An active and loyal volunteer at the institution, Ms Beusekom-Hamburger felt that the rare and exquisite pieces should be kept at the museum.

The collection is to go on show to the public from early June to mark the centenary celebrations of the Art and History Museum, with more than 160 pieces included in the exhibition.

For earthenware lovers, it promises to be something really special.

The collection was assembled between the 1930s and 1960s and features Italian majolica, Sevres porcelain, Dutch earthenware and Chinese export porcelain of the Famille verte and Famille rose styles.

After spending a day admiring the many pieces collected by Gustaaf Hamburger and his wife, visitors can look forward to visiting two more museums the day after.

By booking the Arts and Culture package at the luxury Geneva hotel the Hotel d'Angleterre, guests can get themselves entry to two museums, a buffet breakfast and a beautiful book of the city to take home.
