Geneva is well-established as a leading cultural destination, with the Swiss city home to over 40 public and private museums that can be enjoyed during a stay.

And every summer the area hosts the Fetes de Geneve - or Geneva Festival - the biggest annual tourist event in Switzerland that attracts thousands of visitors from far and wide.

This year, the event will be taking place from July 15th to August 8th and will feature parades around the city's famous lake, as well as opera performances and a day dedicated to keeping the children entertained.

But the undoubted highlight comes on August 7th, when a firework display to match the majesty of luxury Geneva hotel the Hotel d'Angleterre takes place.

Beginning at 22:00 local time, the display lights up the Geneva sky with a spectacular array of rockets and other fireworks.
